Operation Shattered Wings

Operation Shattered Wings

Petabys/Derra/Serroco Systems - In what military analysts are calling the most coordinated underworld offensive in recent memory, Shadow Dominion forces have completed a devastating multi-system campaign that has left Rebel Alliance fleet capabilities crippled across three strategic sectors. The operation's success was matched only by the grim efficiency of its execution.

The campaign began with the Son-Tuul Pride's surgical destruction of a Rebel fleet carried by a Corona-class frigate in Petabys, following precise intelligence about large-scale Rebel deployments. This opening salvo set the stage for subsequent engagements as Pride forces, reinforced by Zann Consortium specialists, joined with Dark Confederacy allies including Nihil, Children of the Watch, Guavian Death Gang, and Skree scavengers to assault entrenched Rebel positions in Serroco. The resulting battle saw 13 Rebel A-wings destroyed and 2 Invid Order Toscan 8-Q Starfighter, with only a single pilot surviving ejection, against 14 Shadow Dominion fighter losses - an exchange rate that forced immediate Rebel withdrawal from the system.

Derra System Battle

Parallel operations in Derra proved even more catastrophic for Alliance forces. Blackstar Raiders working alongside Emerald Ring and Zann units obliterated a Rebel Colossal-class Heavy Carrier in a brutal hours-long engagement that claimed 26 crew lives, leaving navigation officer Leebri Chelski as the sole survivor. Subsequent clashes in the system accounted for 8 additional Rebel A-wing losses against 11 Shadow Dominion fighters destroyed.

The operation's most disturbing development occurred in Serroco when Rebel Commander Jerome Valkire's forces made the calculated decision to destroy a civilian Defender-class corvette rather than risk its capture - an act that resulted in 32 civilian fatalities despite Shadow Dominion forces having already successfully commandeered the vessel's sister ship. This pattern of self-destructive tactics continued in the operation's final phases, with Rebel MC-30b corvettes firing upon their own compromised fighters to prevent capture, destroying 8 A and B-wings in the process. Rebel and Jawa Offworld Enterprises suffered additional losses during disorganized retreats, including 1 U-wing  and 2 A-wings destroyed.

When the final accounting was complete, Operation Shattered Wings had achieved staggering results: 2 Rebel carrier ships destroyed (1 Colossal-class and 1 Corona-class), 201 starfighters eliminated (including 10 lost to Rebel friendly fire), and 146 Rebel crew fatalities. Shadow Dominion losses totaled just 27 fighters across all engagements.

"When your enemy destroys their own assets to deny you victory, they've already surrendered the strategic initiative. These were not battles - they were executions."
- Khagan Bork Shalas

With operational objectives achieved, Dominion forces are withdrawing from the systems - though not without the Son-Tuul Pride's declaration of Ploo as a dead zone. This designation commits the Pride to constant raids and full support for underworld dealings throughout the Ploo sector.
