Your regularly scheduled programming is interrupted by the following announcement.
"Sentients of the Galaxy, it is with a deep sadness and regret that I come before you to announce the passing of Imperator Hatori Hoorl. The original intent of this broadcast was to be a formal eulogy for my friend, my mentor and my confidant, but unfortunately the perfidy of a select few in this Galaxy has seen fit to make it so that one of my first official acts as the Imperator of the Restored Empire is to deliver you a formal update about the actions of the so-called leadership of the New Republic.
"I do not doubt that many of you were forced to suffer through the long-winded diatribe of Darcks Galvan as he once again attempted to portray the actions of himself and his handler, Jonas, as the official acts of the Rebel Alliance, now going by the nom de guerre of the New Republic. I will not belabor this point or retread verbatim the offer made to the current leadership of the New Republic. Instead I will attach that as a datafile that will be broadcast to the Galaxy with this message. What I shall do, however, is share with you the response that our very capable legal counsel, Ja`Garras Kaos, received from acting Chief of State Galvan.
"This is neither the character, nor the comportment of the leadership of what is supposed to be the bastion of freedom, liberty and justice in the Galaxy. These are the words and actions of a petty, cornered bully or tyrant who looks at the Galaxy around them and sees themselves isolated, humiliated and out of their depth. Many of you have had similar diplomatic interactions with the New Republic as of late and I'm sure that this language, this behavior...this...mocking of the death of two sentients for cheap political points likely comes as no surprise to you.
"I know what Darcks Galvan is hoping to achieve with this, he is hoping that I will act out rashly or do something that they can atempt to portray as aggressive actions so they can once again try and play the victim card. But it will not work. Throughout my time as Moff and High Moff and now Imperator of the Restored Empire, I have seen the same behavior displayed by the leadership of the New Republic that we saw in the Galactic Empire. Harrassment, belittlement, gaslighting, demanded loyalty and the immediate criminalization of anyone who dares to speak up or speak out.
"I do not care if you wish to show your true colors by once again threatening my head with a bounty. I do not fear that. But I do care that you would label our legal counsel, our friends, our allies, the nebulous term of "supporters" as criminals and terrorists, wanted under your sick perversion of the law, for doing nothing more than what you had asked us to do. The Restoration will not be cowed by the weak, ineffectual words of a failed Head of State or his cronies. I find it highly amusing that so many people, almost wholly unconnected to each other, have brought up the same issues with the leadership of the New Republic, how they operate and how they behave, yet the best response we get is that we're either traitors, criminals or terrorists.
"So if it is truly the policy of the New Republic to attack legal counsel, to threaten greater and greater aggressive acts against sovereign powers, to attempt to dictate the diplomatic affairs of the entire galaxy, then I do not think you should call yourselves the New Republic. I don't think that you were truly seeing to the interests of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. By the words, actions and behavior displayed, you seem to be more in favor of challenging the Galactic Empire for the legacy of the New Order.
"If you were hoping for anger, for rash actions, for a declaration of war from me, Darcks, you're sorely mistaken. I don't hate you, I don't consider the people of the New Republic my enemy or the enemies of the Restoration. I pity you for your weak, pathetic mewling. I pity the people of the New Republic for having you represent them on the Galactic stage. I pity the Senate of the New Republic for having to deal with your pitiful attempts at legislation and the usage of sophomoric terms like promulgation.
"I am now the Imperator of the Restored Empire. I know that you have tried to use that name, my title, against us to further your own goals. I have stood side by side with the members of the very Alliance that you left to fight against the criminal underworld and the forces of the Meridan regime. I don't seek the be the Emperor, to sit on Coruscant, to do anything less than bring peace, stability and order to the Galaxy through cooperation, diplomacy and, when necessary, through the use of force.
"All you have done is stagger from diplomatic blunder to diplomatic blunder, having all the grace, aplomb and guile of a newly graduated fighter pilot on his first leave post-graduation. You have thought time and again that you'd be able to use your self-created titles and fancy awards and ribbons to get your way, but you continue to fail to grasp that nobody respects them and they don't respect you. You try to charge others with the very crimes that you admit to committing yourself.
"To the people of the New Republic I say this, we are not your enemy, we are not terrorists and under Restoration law, we will defend you should you be forced to seek asylum from your current despotic, anti-democratic regime. It is my hope that after the current Senate elections, that elections for the Chief of State will be announced and an end to this criminal sham can be had. It is a sad sight to see when the New Republic, formed from the legacy and the ashes of the Rebel Alliance, is used as little more than a playground for a few peoples' Imperial fantasies.
"In the memory of my friend, my predecessor and my mentor, I wish nothing but peace, stability, justice and order for the future of the New Republic."
