The Raddaugh Gnasp Fluttercraft is a modified, ornithoptic airspeeder of truly unique design. With origins in Kashyyyk, this two-man vehicle is unique in that it possesses no computerized automation. It uses older repulsor technology that gives it a fixed amount of lift; the actual controlling of this highly maneuverable vehicle comes from the ten arms located on the top, nose, and side of the vehicle. The fore "wings" flap rapidly to provide horizontal drive both forward and in reverse, while the top flapping apparatus provides vertical maneuvering. Two smaller arms, located on the side just below the cockpit array, provide flight stability and increased side-to-side mobility. Each of the rapidly-flapping metal limbs are able to be moved around their rotary axis up to 30 degrees and angled up or down respective to their axis 45 degrees and can be controlled in varying paired configurations to provide motion and precise maneuvering in all directions.
Lacking electronic systems for ionic shielding and having a hull as light as most racing speeders, this flight-capable craft does not provide much protection for the pilot or gunner, but the reduced weight greatly increases mobility in the hands of a skilled aviator. A single blaster array is affixed at the aft of the vehicle, where it is not only out of the way of the ornithoptic arms, but is also designed with the intent of the rear-facing gunner focusing on targets behind the vehicle. This both frees the pilot to focus on maneuvering the craft as well as making the fluttercraft ideal for both fending off pursuers and for rapid "fly-by" attacks when scouting.
